Recognise the item inside a marketplace URL
The useful part is the identifier for one product. A shop address and a search page do different jobs.
Three common product address shapes
- Taobao / Tmall
item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=ITEM_ID- Weidian
weidian.com/item.html?itemID=ITEM_ID- 1688
detail.1688.com/offer/ITEM_ID.html
These are format examples, not working product links. Mobile addresses can differ; open the final page and check the item.
Product, shop or search?
- Product: one item with selectable options. Use this for an order request.
- Shop: several listings from a seller. Open the individual item first.
- Search: a query and its results. Pick a result, then copy its own address.
An item ID does not select a variant
Two colourways can share the same item ID. Save the exact option name and quantity separately. If a link redirects to an unexpected shop or product, do not submit the old order notes against it.
